Grausam The Miraculous In Frieren

grausam

Grausam the Miraculous was one of the Seven Sages of Destruction who helped the Demon King. Together with the other Sages and the super-smart Schlacht, they fought against the Hero of the South. Frieren tells us that Grausam got beaten by the Hero Party during their adventure.

Past Story

Grausam gained fame for his skills and rose to become one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, earning the title Grausam the Miraculous.

Before clashing with the Hero of the South, Grausam teamed up with Schlacht to convince Macht to join their cause against the Hero. Grausam’s formidable magic made him a convincing force, especially since Macht admitted that Grausam posed the greatest challenge to him. Furthermore, Schlacht asked Grausam to erase Macht’s memories of their encounter, foreseeing that Frieren would later access those memories.

While Grausam’s activities after the Hero of the South’s defeat remain unclear, his followers, like Remnant Zart, traveled across the continent, updating him on any noteworthy developments.

Seven years after the Hero Party embarked on their journey, when Frieren was sent back in time by the Goddess’s Monument, Grausam was among the demons assembled by Solitär, alongside Rivale and Tot. It’s likely that he sensed the disturbances in space-time as well. The four demons convened under the Goddess’s Monument with the intention of erasing Frieren’s future memories, ultimately leading to her demise.

Sometime between this event and the series’ main storyline, Grausam fell to the Hero Party’s might.

Power

Grausam possesses a range of magical abilities. He can manipulate memories, removing specific parts from someone’s mind using his magic. Though the details of his abilities remain unclear, Macht notes that among the Seven Sages of Destruction, Grausam poses the greatest challenge for him. Grausam can shapeshift, altering his appearance to blend into any society or era.

Another notable spell in Grausam’s repertoire is Ansehelschella, which guides individuals into a blissful illusion resembling paradise. This magic is potent enough to ensnare its victims in a dream they had long abandoned, and it can even deceive powerful beings like the Great Demons, making the illusion indistinguishable from reality.
