Flamme was a powerful human mage known as The Great Mage. She was Frieren’s master, teaching her magic, and a former student of Serie. As a human, she died of old age a long time ago in the current timeline. Even though she had a gentle personality, when it came to fighting demons, she fought ruthlessly.
History
Flamme, often called The Great Mage Flamme, is a legendary mage known for her incredible power and the unbreakable barriers she created that still protect against Demons today. She developed a deep love for magic as a child, inspired by a spell her mage parents showed her. Sadly, demons likely killed her parents, leading the mage Serie to take her in as a student. Later, Flamme mentored Frieren, an elf seeking revenge against demons. Flamme prepared a guide for Frieren, hoping she would understand humans better after making mistakes.
Flamme’s ultimate dream was to make magic accessible to everyone, even though it was once seen as demonic. She successfully convinced the Emperor to allow magic research, leading to an era where all could use magic to resist the Demon King. Before her death, she passed on her cherished flower-spell to Frieren, telling her to make history by defeating the Demon King. Flamme also left a will with Serie, asking her to continue training Imperial Mages. Flamme knew Serie would be upset by this but believed she would come to see that their dream had come true in just a thousand years.
Abilities
Flamme had several impressive magical abilities. She could cast a powerful spell that caused an instant explosion right in front of her. She was also a master of Mana Concealment, a skill that let her hide her magical energy. She used this to trick and outsmart demons, even though some considered it a sneaky tactic. Despite this, she taught Frieren the same skill, advising her to always keep her mana hidden from demons.
One of Flamme’s most treasured spells was one that created a beautiful field of flowers, a gift from her parents that sparked her love for magic. Flamme was famous for her Barrier Spells. Some of these barriers have lasted for over a thousand years, thanks to being linked to the life force of mighty beings like ancient trees.
