Stark is a human boy who was left in his village at a young age when demons attacked. After that, Eisen found him and chose him as his apprentice. Eisen taught him all his skills and techniques. The last time Frieren met Eisen, he asked her to take Stark as her vanguard.
Even though Stark has trained tirelessly as a warrior under Eisen for many years, he’s still afraid of monsters and often thinks about running away from tough fights, which he really doesn’t like about himself. But when danger comes his way, he manages to find the courage to stand and fight, even if it means risking his life.
History
Stark was born in a Warrior Village in the Klee region and faced criticism from his father and others for being weak. However, his older brother Stoltz, the village hero, supported and trained him, even when Stark practiced in the rain. When demons attacked their village, Stoltz told Stark to run away while he stayed behind.
Stark met Eisen later, who understood his fears and trained him to become a strong warrior. But a disagreement led Eisen to scar Stark’s face and caused Stark to leave angrily. He wandered until he found a village in Riegel Canyon under attack by a solar dragon. Despite his fear, Stark stood up to the dragon, which backed off. For three years, he protected the village, training every night by striking a cliff, eventually carving a deep gouge into the mountain.
